Community Guidelines
Homeschool Gather exists to help families build real, local community. Treat other families with respect, protect children's privacy, and use sound judgment when organizing or attending activities.
Respect people
Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, hate speech, targeted humiliation, and repeated unwanted contact are not permitted.
Protect children
- No sexual or exploitative content involving minors and no grooming behavior.
- Do not request unnecessary child information.
- No public child profiles; do not publish children's full names or exact birth dates.
- Do not share a child's private medical or educational information without proper authorization.
- Report any unsafe or unlawful interactions with minors. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Protect privacy and locations
- No doxxing or publishing private residential addresses.
- Do not share restricted event locations outside authorized attendees.
- Do not share private contact details without permission or republish private group discussions.
- Do not misuse RSVP or membership information.
Event safety
Organizers must describe activities honestly, state material risks, set supervision expectations, identify whether drop-off is allowed, communicate major changes, avoid false claims about licensing, insurance, training, or screening, and follow venue requirements and applicable law. Attendees independently decide whether an activity is appropriate for their family.
Photography
Respect organizer, venue, household, and event-specific photography rules. Do not post identifiable images of another family's children without appropriate permission.
No illegal or dangerous conduct
Credible threats, violence, child endangerment, illegal drugs, fraud, illegal weapons activity, deliberately unsafe event descriptions, and instructions intended to facilitate harm are prohibited. Lawful discussion of sensitive topics is permitted.
No spam or deceptive promotion
Repetitive advertising, pyramid schemes, fraudulent fundraising, undisclosed affiliate promotion, misleading commercial claims, unrelated solicitation, and scraping member information are prohibited. Relevant organizer recommendations are allowed where transparently disclosed and permitted by group rules.
Beliefs and group identity
Groups may define their own educational, religious, secular, cultural, or discussion focus, but all users must follow platform-wide safety, anti-harassment, privacy, and non-discrimination requirements. Organizers may set additional group-specific rules.
Reporting and moderation
You can report content, users, groups, or events from the app. You can also contact safety@homeschoolgather.com. Homeschool Gather may remove content, restrict features, suspend users or groups, preserve evidence, and contact authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary for an emergency.
We review safety and moderation reports as promptly as reasonably possible, with priority given to credible threats and child-safety concerns.
Appeals
You may request review of a moderation decision by contacting safety@homeschoolgather.com. Not every decision is appealable or reversible.
