Platform role
Homeschool Gather provides technology that helps adults discover, create, organize, and communicate about homeschool groups and activities. Homeschool Gather is generally not the host, sponsor, operator, supervisor, transportation provider, childcare provider, educator, medical provider, or safety inspector for user-created events. Group organizers and users are independent platform users.
We do not control every organizer, attendee, venue, activity, statement, or interaction, and we do not guarantee that an event, organizer, venue, or attendee is safe, qualified, licensed, insured, suitable, or accurately described unless a specific verification is expressly stated.
User responsibility and assumption of risk
Users are responsible for:
- Evaluating groups, organizers, venues, activities, transportation, equipment, supervision, weather, age suitability, accessibility, and safety conditions
- Deciding whether they and their family should participate
- Supervising children and following venue and organizer rules
- Obtaining appropriate medical advice and bringing appropriate equipment
- Leaving an activity that appears unsafe and contacting emergency services when necessary
Participation in any in-person or online activity is voluntary and may involve ordinary and unexpected risks including injury, illness, allergic reactions, weather exposure, travel incidents, property loss, interaction with other users, and activity-specific hazards. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, users voluntarily assume the risks associated with choosing to attend or participate in user-created groups, events, field trips, classes, meetups, and activities.
Parent and guardian responsibility
Parents and guardians are solely responsible for:
- Determining whether an activity is appropriate for their children
- Providing supervision unless a specific written arrangement states otherwise
- Communicating allergies, accommodations, or safety needs directly to the organizer
- Confirming drop-off and transportation arrangements
- Protecting children's personal information
Homeschool Gather does not provide childcare.
Organizer responsibilities
Organizers agree to:
- Provide accurate information and disclose material activity risks
- Set clear supervision rules and protect restricted member information
- Use attendee information only for legitimate group or event administration
- Follow applicable laws and obtain permits, permissions, insurance, licenses, or waivers where needed
- Avoid misleading safety or qualification claims
- Maintain appropriate emergency and cancellation plans and moderate their communities
- Respect photography and privacy preferences where configured
Organizer tools do not make Homeschool Gather a co-organizer.
User content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Homeschool Gather a limited license to host, display, moderate, format, and operate that content through the service. We may remove content that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, safety or privacy requirements, or applicable law.
Prohibited conduct
- Harassment, threats, exploitation, or discrimination
- Sexual content involving minors or child endangerment
- Doxxing or publishing private addresses
- Impersonation, fraud, spam, or illegal activity
- Dangerous misrepresentation or unauthorized commercial solicitation
- Malicious software or circumventing suspensions
- Misuse of attendee information
Event changes and cancellations
Organizers may change or cancel events. Homeschool Gather does not guarantee event availability, attendance, organizer performance, venue access, weather suitability, or refunds handled outside the platform.
No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or continuously available service.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Homeschool Gather is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for gross negligence where non-waivable, willful misconduct, fraud, or non-waivable consumer protections.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, organizers and users agree to indemnify and hold Homeschool Gather harmless from claims arising from their content, events, conduct, legal violations, misuse of member data, or breach of these Terms.
Account suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts for safety concerns, Terms or Community Guideline violations, fraud, abuse, legal requirements, platform security, or repeated harmful behavior. You may request to delete your account subject to ownership transfer, record-retention, and legal requirements.
Changes to the service and Terms
Homeschool Gather is an evolving early-access service. We may add, remove, or change features and update these Terms as the platform develops. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it.
Governing law and disputes
[Governing law, venue, arbitration, class-action waiver, and jury-trial provisions require legal review and confirmed business-entity information before publication.]
